Getting Started with PiggyPro

Install the module, configure the farm, and start recording real work in Odoo.

First Setup

Step 1: Install and open PiggyPro

Start from the Odoo Apps menu

  1. Install the PiggyPro module in your Odoo database
  2. Open PiggyPro from the main Odoo menu
  3. Confirm the user has the correct PiggyPro group assigned
  4. Review the Farm Settings menu before entering records

Step 2: Review master data

Make sure the core lists are ready

  1. Check pig breeds
  2. Confirm feed types and feeding schedules
  3. Verify farm locations
  4. Review health procedure templates and inventory categories

Step 3: Start recording work

Use the operational menus first

  1. Create a pig or batch
  2. Record a weight or health action
  3. Set up a breeding record if needed
  4. Open the dashboard to review the farm status

Set Up Users and Roles

PiggyPro Roles

Assign the right access before staff start working

  • Farm Worker - daily work and basic records
  • Farm Supervisor - operational oversight
  • Veterinarian - health records and procedures
  • Farm Manager - full system access

Initial Setup

Configure User Roles

Assign appropriate roles to your team members:

  • Farm Worker - Basic access for daily tasks
  • Farm Supervisor - Manage pigs and operations
  • Veterinarian - Health records and treatments
  • Farm Manager - Full system access

Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users to assign roles.

Configure Master Data

PiggyPro includes default data, but you can customize:

  • Pig Breeds - Add or modify breed information
  • Feed Types - Configure feed specifications and costs
  • Feeding Schedules - Set up age/weight-based feeding programs
  • Farm Locations - Define storage areas and facilities
  • Health Procedure Templates - Create vaccination and treatment schedules
  • Inventory Categories - Organize supplies and medications
  • Task Generation Settings - Configure automated task creation

Access these settings from PiggyPro → Farm Settings menu.

Start Using PiggyPro

You're ready to start managing your farm! Here's what to do next:

  1. Register your existing pigs or create new pig records
  2. Set up your feed inventory
  3. Create breeding records for sows
  4. Schedule health checks and vaccinations
  5. Explore the dashboard for insights
